Blackjack – The Single Table Tournament vs Multiple Table Tournament
Most Internet casinos offer two blackjack tournament types – single table and multiple table. Although the rules for both are generally the same, the difference lies in how players go from round to round.
Single Table Tournaments
A single table tournament in blackjack consists of one round that gives players varying options in regards to the number of card decks, the amount of hands to be played, the buy-in, and the house fee. Once every player has registered, the tournament starts. After the end of each round, the player who earns the greatest amount of chips wins.
Multiple Table Tournaments
During multiple table tournaments, each player competes against the others; the dealer is excluded. This type of blackjack tournament eliminates players after every round and all of the winners go on to compete in the next level. However, the total amount of rounds is determined by the final player count.
Tournament Rules
Both single table and multiple table tournaments follow many of the same basic rules. When blackjack tournaments are held online, the tournaments will have a predetermined set of rounds that players- will compete in.
Anywhere from 1-8 decks are used during both tournaments. The game does not start until the tables are full or the commencement time has begun, depending on the casino’s rules. The player who goes first is the one who holds the highest card out of the one card per player the dealer gives out.
All winners will be paid not only the winning pot, but also their buy-in fees; however, an average 10 percent service fee will be deducted and given to the hosting casino. There are also a set minimum and maximum allowed for wagers per hand. In order for players to reach the next round, a player must rake in the most chips.
